This chart is candy for me, since I’ve lived or worked in six of the top eight places (all except Chicago and Tel Aviv), and the rankings mostly make sense (though funding for London seems off, given the huge tax incentives being given to angel investment there).

But I’m writing this because following that link gets me to something called Compass (at, which invites one to “Download the free complete report here.” Which turns out to be, typically for this kind of thing, a page that requires that one fill out a form to become (one presumes) a qualified lead for mailings.

So I did that, and it took me to a page that says “We’ve emailed you the ranking and hope you find it insightful.” Hope it ends there — or starts good conversations not based on being a sales prospect.

But… we’ll see.
